Dr. Martin Pfennigbauer holds a PhD in electrical engineering from Vienna University of Technology. He has been with RIEGL Laser Measurement Systems since 2005 and presently assumes the position of Chief Research Officer. Martin Pfennigbauer manages RIEGL’s research activities and projects funded by the European Space Agency, the European Union, and Austrian national programs. His special interest is the design and development of lidar instruments for surveying applications, with a focus on rangefinder design, waveform processing and point cloud analysis, specifically in the context of lidar bathymetry.
